Position Description:

The Carpenter is responsible for contributing to best-in-class customer experience by
performing general carpentry tasks, for a range of clients as assigned by the General
Superintendent of Project Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Complete a variety of activities, including both light and heavy maintenance; this
    could include repair of all basic carpentry elements, drywall, painting, suspended
    ceiling, steel stud framing, etc;

  • Take initiative to point out additional needed repairs as necessary.
    May be required to work with sub-contractors and monitor work progress;

  • Maintain a daily Log of activities including material, labor, work hours, completion
    dates, etc.;
    Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all work areas; as well as storage areas;

  • Ensure all areas are free of hazards and where not able to resolve, ensure
    management are informed for immediate resolution;
    Perform all facets of the job in accordance with the legislation applicable to the
    jurisdiction, including Health and Safety standards, WHMIS, AODA, etc.

  • Correctly interpret plans and specifications to ensure compliance with the
    schedule; ensure the quality of work performed;
    ensure the implementation and enforcement of the health and safety policies at
    work;

  • participating in site meetings;

  • All other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by
    management.

Qualification Requirements:

  • High school diploma is required. A trade certificate or post secondary education
    would be considered an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction.
  • Government of Canada reliability clearance or ability to obtain it.
  • Knowledge of construction.
  • Having a good knowledge of: equipment, execution standards, work methods used
    in commercial construction.
  • Computer literate.
  • Valid Driver’s license
