COVID-19

INFORMATION

Update: Tuesday, May 19th, 2020

On May 14, 2020 the Government of Ontario announced that all construction can resume effective May 19th 2020.  As each of our construction sites is presently being individually evaluated at this time. We want to make sure all necessary safety measures are in place prior to the return of the workplace.

We remain dedicated to meeting the safety and health needs of everyone involved with Westrade Construction. Working alongside the provincial government’s regulations and suggestions, we will continue to:

  • Reinforce rigorous on-site hygiene practices,

  • Reinforce our mandatory online assessment questionnaire for construction workers and all visitors prior to entering a job site,

  • Physically distance workers by limiting the number of people allowed on a site,

  • Physically distancing of at least 2 metres (6 feet) at all time including during breaks, lunch and meetings,

  • In the event that self distancing is not possible, masks or face shields and gloves will be mandatory,

  • Replace in-person communication with digital teleconferencing when applicable,

  • Offer daily general meetings with staff and subcontractors to review Covid-19 precautions and protocols as per government guidelines and have a binder for Health & Safety and Covid-19 prevention plan accessible on each site. Please click here to access our Prevention Plan,

  • Provide adequate washroom facilities and maintain them daily.

We are doing everything we can to make smart decisions for all involved from everyone at Westrade Construction.

Update: Monday, April 6th, 2020

During this extremely volatile and challenging time due to growing concerns around COVID-19, we want to assure you that we are doing everything possible to ensure the well-being of our community.

On April 4th, the latest provincial government directives and legislative changes were put in place. At this time, each individual construction site is being evaluated on which are deemed to be non essential. We anticipate significant delays and decrease of work to help flatten the curve of the virus. Every client and person of concern are in direct contact with our administrative team to address inevitable changes.

As per essential construction sites, we will continue to apply rigorous measures including heightened hygiene practices, our office space remain closed and administration employees are working from home, we implemented an online questionnaire prior entering construction site, physical distancing and limiting the amount of people on site, replace physical meetings by phone and video-conferences while remaining in constant communication with our clients, sub trades, suppliers and employees. In the event of having a member showing signs of infection (employee, supplier, sub or visitor) we will shut-down the site immediately as a precautionary measure.

We are continuing to monitor the ongoing developments very closely and make adjustments to our procedures on a daily basis to comply with the highest standards of Public Health and the Canadian Construction Association.

We are committed to remain a trusted partner for all construction needs.
